The Classifications Of Bones Flashcards
Function of the long bones
Due to their length, they create LEVERAGE. This helps us create SPEED, FORCE & POWER. This will give us more power to make a chest past in basketball(or shoot in football)
Functions of the short bones
Helps us BARE OUR BODYWEIGHT. They are very STRONG and acts as a SHOCK ASBORBER. For example a gymnast is able to hold their bodyweight using their carpals whilst doing a handstand to maintain BALANCE and gain points from the judge.

Provides PROTECTION TO MANY VITAL ORGANS. For example the RIBS protects the HEART & LUNGS ( the cranium protects the brain), and allows us to play WITHOUT INJURY.
