Q

What are the 5 stages of the Cell Cycle?

A
  1. Cell grows and replicates their organelle (Interphase)
  2. The cell replicates its DNA (most time spent)
  3. Mitosis (Nuclei division)
  4. Two nuclei form
  5. Cellular Division - Two new identical cells form

Q

What are the differences between Asexual and Sexual reproduction?

A

Asexual:

  • 1 parent
  • Identical offspring
  • Can happen every 20 minutes
  • No genetic material mixed
  • Happens in bacteria and plants

Sexual:

  • 2 parents
  • Not identical offspring
  • Mixing of genetic material
  • Happens slowly over a long period of time
  • Happens in humans/animals and plants
