Q

what is the role of the hypothalamus

A

when stressors are perceived by the higher centers of the brain a message passes to a small cone shaped pat of the brain called the hypothalamus. the hypothalamus is the control system for most of the body’s hormonal systems including those involved in the stress response activation of a particular region of the hypothalamus the para ventricular nucleus (pvn_ leads to the production of a chemical messenger, anthropomorphic-releasing factor which is released into the surrounding blood stream in response to the stressor
