what was Asch’s experiment?
Asch used seven confederates and one real participant for his experiment. He asked the participant to tell the examiner which of the four lines he thought were the same length after the confederates had given there answer. The confederates were told to give the wrong answer.
what did asch find?
that 36.8 of the responses made by the participants were incorrect

It is easier to do something slightly worse each time than to jump to something terrible. e.g. It’s easier Telling yourself “It won’t make a difference if I have one more crisp” until you eat the whole packet compared to “I’ll just eat the whole packet”
