he was unsure whether the presence of spanish troops would encourge the suppressed rebels from Ulster to rise again.
how did Mountjoy deal with the arrival of the Spanish troops?
he decided the only way to end the rebellion would be to defeat the Spanish troops, therefore he marched south to them. - October 1601 they reached Kinsale and besieged it along with 7,000 men.
what did mountjoy’s decision to fight the spanish troops cause?
it meant Tyrone was no longer surrounded and able to go freely and also march south.

Tyrone was preparing for battle and making the final preparations , when Mountjoy launched a surprise attack as the Enlish callvarly charged the irish horsemen panicked caused the army to flee.
was Kinsale the end of the rebellion?
it was the last proper battle in the Rebellion however the actually rebellion continued for another 15 months.
what did Mountjoy manage to do upon his arrival and who helped him do so?
he manged to suppress Munster rebellions with the help of George Carew. as well as isolating Tyrone from rebels and surrounding him with English Forces in Ulster.
why was the arrival of Spanish troops in 1601 too late?
the rebellion in Munster had been suppressed and when they finally arrived in Kinsale they were too late as Tyrone was surrounded in Ulster.
