A
The United States first constitution of the states. (Plan of Government)

What was thought during the creation of the Articles of Confederation?
A
- Being the first structure of National Government with NO KING
- The two fears when writing it were…
A. National Government would have too much power.
B. Bigger states would dominate the small ones.

A. Each state had one vote regardless of size.
B. One part of the Legislative Branch breaks into too many committees-CONFUSING
C. 9 states had to approve anything to have it pass as a law.

- Successfully waged the Revolutionary War
- Negotiated Peace Treaty with England in France
- States had to recognize laws of other states- Tax wise and Extradition
- Northwest Ordinance- People in West could form their own governments, become states, and have all legal rights (education, no slavery, worship trial by Jury

Crimes must be tried in the state they were committed.

What were the many problems with the Articles of Confederation?
A
- Congress had no money and no power to get through Taxation
- Congress had no power over the states. Goes State, Federal, Local.
- Congress could not make the states live up to trade agreements with other states or countries.
- Congress could not protect people from unfair discrimination-loyalists to Britain we treated poorly.
- Congress had no power to prevent unfairness among states.
