What are the side effects of tetracycline’s?
A
abd pain, dry mouth, tooth discoloration, N/V/D, HA, visual changes, photosensitivity

What are the nsg for tetracycline’s?
A
Do Not give in kids younger than 8 years old
Avoid dairy, iron and antacids (decreases effects)- EXCEPT w/doxycyline, and minocycline.
Monitor K+ levels, kidney, and hepatic function.
Use w/caution w/pts taking digoxin, warfarin, and lithium.
Decreases effectiveness of oral contraceptives.
Monitor enzymes liver enzymes and kidney function.
