  • no specific diagnostic test, diagnosis by exclusion

Tx

A
  • identify any wounds and make aerobic (clean & flush), don’t forget dental wounds
  • supportive therapy
  • may need sedation (e.g. ACP) if noise sensitive
  • anti-toxin controversial as the toxin is already bound in the spinal cord

Prognosis

A
  • depends if source of toxin can be identified and removed, and how severely affected
  • some dogs will do very well
