CS, aetiology

A
  • generalised myalgia (muscle pain)
  • usually idiopathic autoimmune
  • can be coexisting with other autoimmune presentations such as polyarthritis

Diagnosis

A
  • likely to show marked CPK on bloods
  • definitive diagnosis on muscle biopsy

  • extended course of corticosteroids at an immunosuppressive dose
