1 visually inspect the tester and check the known voltage

2 find or provide bare spots on the conductors for contact points

3 conduct the test. Do not stretch leads or scratch contact probes where a questionable or no voltage reading is obtained

4 recheck tester

If rotation is clockwise, then mark panel RWB 1-2-3 to show rotation

If rotation is counterclockwise, then mark panel RWB 3-2-1 to show rotation

On existing installations, match the rotation found on the switch or CT cabinet, it cannot be changed if it’s already established
