- it revieves food from esophagus, initiates digestion & moves food to small intestine

-produces pancreatic juice that contains enzymes that are capable of digesting carbohydrates

destroys toxins
small intestine
3 regions, duodenum, jejunum, and ilium.
Recieves secretions from pancreas, completes digestion & transports residue to large intestine
Large Intes.
4 regions: cecum, colon, rectum & anal canal.
-Reabsorbs water & electrolyt, forms feces, makes up to 80% of digestive system
