Test 3- Spleen, pancreas, liver, gallbladder Flashcards
What surrounds the spleen except at the hilum
Peritoneum
What connects the spleen to the left kidney
splenorenal ligament
what connects the spleen to the posterior wall of the greater curvature
gastrosplenic ligament
Atrial and venous drainage of spleen
atrial- splenic artery (from celiac artery)
venous- Splenic vein (which ultimately goes to hepatic portal vein)
nerve supply of spleen
celiac plexus with distribution along the splenic artery (vasomotor effect)
Where does the main and accessory pancreatic ducts open
main- major duodenal papilla
accessory- minor duodenal papilla
what do both ducts form in pancreas
form a dilated hepatopancreatic ampulla which opens at the major duodenal papilla
arterial supply of head of pancreas (4)
- anterior superior pancreaticoduodenal artery
- Posterior superior pancreaticoduodenal artery
(both branches of gastroduodenal artery)
- Anterior inferior pancreaticoduodenal artery
- Posterior inferior pancreaticoduodenal artery
(both branches of superior mesenteric artery)
venous drainage of pancreas
pancreatic veins which mostly drain into splenic vein
PS and S supply of pnacreas
PS- Vagus
S- Greater/lesser splanchnic
what portion of the liver is cover by peritoneum and which areas are not
covered- visceral surface
not- bare area which is in contact with the diaphram
The portal hepatis is portal for the following structures (3)
- hepatic portal vein
- hepatic artery
- Bile duct
what is the lesser omentum and where does it extend from
encloses the portal triad
-extends from the liver to the lesser curvature of the stomach
which lobe is bigger on the liver
Right is bigger
what does the round ligament connect for the liver
connects liver to the anterior abdominal wall
