What is the importance of basic restorative care
Maintain or improve existing abilities, prevent further complications, move individual towards doing as much as they can on there own, assist individual to accept or adapt to limitations

Increased independence, encourage resident, be positive, emphasize abilities, explain planned activities, praise accomplishment, focus on small tasks, patience, give resident control, rest periods given

When you awake, one hour before meal, every two hours between meals, going to bed, during the night as needed

Enemas, laxatives, supportories, stool softners
What are the varieties of enemas
Tap water, saline, soapsuds
