King of the region (dominated by Amorites), best known for his code, which was the first set of written law, based on retaliation.

Conquered Mesopotamia, their invasion began the dark ages, they didn’t come to preserve culture, they just came to destroy.
Hittites
Modern central turkey, able to smelt medals, confiscate a lot of Mesopotamian things (after mes. Has recovered from dark ages)

Shalmanzar III
Defeated smaller kingdoms at the battle of quarquar, one of the first great successful Assyrian commanders, conquered mes. And turkey, died at the border of Israel
Tiglith-Pilesar III
Created the first modern army that was ahead in everything, reconquered most of Shalmanzar’s empire from 75 yrs earlier.
Sargon II
Conquered Sumaria and northern parts of Israel, dies early
Sennecherib
Height of Assyrian power, known for building Nineveh, tried to take Jerusalem, assassinated by sons
Esar-Hadon
Known for conquering invading Egypt, their long enemy
