Q

What were the terms for Turkey?

A

Treaty of Sevres.
Land terms:
- Lost land to Greece and all of their land except a small area around the capital of Constinople.
Army terms:
- Army was restricted to 50,000 men.
- Navy was limited to 7 sail boats and 6 torpedo boats.

The Treaty of Sevres was changed to the Treaty of Lausanne as the people in Turkey were so furious with the terms that they revolted and overthrew the government. The new president threatened to fight the allies over another war, so they agreed to overite the treaty with the Treaty of Lausanne as Britain were not prepared to fight in another war. This is significant as it showed the treaty was able to be changed and didn’t have to be followed.

Treaty of Lausanne.
Land terms:
- Regained land from Greece.
Army terms:
- Were able to decide how big their armed forces were.
Money terms:
- Reparations cancelled.
