Rearmament, Anchluss, Lebensraum and Volksdeutsche.
Describe Hitler’s aim for rearmament.
He wanted to reduce unemployment and make Germany strong again by increasing military power.
He would achieve this by:
- Remilitarising the Rhineland (1936).
Describe Hitler’s aim for Lebensraum.
Lebensraum: creating more living space.
Gain additional land for the German people - Lebensraum - for farming and living on.
He would attempt to achieve this by:
- Invading Poland (1939).
Describe Hitler’s aim for Anchluss.
He wanted to reunite Austria and Germany after it was forbidden under the Treaty of Versailles.
He would achieve this in 1938.
Describe Hitler’s aim for Volksdeutsche.
Unite all German-speaking people - Volksdeutsche - by taking back all of the land that was taken away in the Treaty of Versailles.
