What were Georges Clemenceau’s aims?
A
- He wanted to cripple Germany so they would never be able to fight France again.
- He wanted to reduce their armed forces and have their border pushed back.
- He wanted Germany to pay reparations as they needed money to rebuild France as they were most damaged as a result of the war.

What were David Lloyd George’s aims?
A
- He wanted to keep Germany strong enough to fight against Communist Russia and be able to trade with Britain.
- He wanted to gain Germany’s colonies to protect their large empire.
- He didn’t want to make the terms too harsh that Germany would want to seek revenge in the future.

What were Woodrow Wilson’s aims?
A
14 Points:
- He wanted to form a League of Nations where countries could work and trade together.
- He believed in a countries’ freedom to rule themselves, this was called self-determination.
- “Freedom of the seas”: where everyone could trade and sail trading ships wherever they wanted to.
- As America joined the war late, lost fewer men, didn’t see the physical effects of war on their soil and made a lot of money from selling their weapons to allies, they didn’t want revenge.
