Which Estate you were in depended on your role in the country/your class, FirstEstate was the Clergy and paid 3% of taxes, Second Estate was Rich Nobles and paid no taxes, and Third Estate was commoners and they paid most taxes.

An assembly of all three estates where each one had one vote.
First Estate
The First Estate was the clergy, and were less than 1% of the population and paid 3% of income taxes

(1789-1794) It got rid of plain monarchy, spread nationalism, and gave more equality to all people, especially those in the lower classes.
Third Estate
Lower class citizens/peasants, 98% of the population, paid most taxes.
Nobles
These aristocrats held vast amounts of wealth and dominated key

It gained a lot of popularity during the French Revolution, the idea that a state should represent, and serve the interests of, a people, or “nation”.
Monarchy
Ruled by a single person who inherits the power; it’s what France had that the people wanted to change because they didn’t like the way they were being treated.
