Effleurage
Flowing massage stroke, increase fluid movement and relaxation. Generally used to warm up clients body and introduce therapists touch & spreading oil
Petrissage
Kneading, wringing, compressive massage stroke. Used to stretch muscle tissue
Tapotement
Invigorating, percussive massage stroke. Often used at the end of the massage to awaken clients nervous system.
Friction stroke
Rubbing, deep directional movements. Soothes deep muscles, loosens tightness from exercise stress. Contributes to flexibility in muscles and joints, stimulates blood to the surface of skin to nourish tissues
Vibration stroke
Jostling, relieves pain, hold at one spot and rapidly shake for a few seconds, sedates nervous system.
Rocking movement
Relieves stress, soothes nervous system, often used at the end of session

Energy channel in the body
Acupressure
Bodywork method incorporating knowledge of meridians
