Define the ‘anatomical position’.
The body position from which directional terms always refer to.
Person stands upright, palms forward
Feet parallel, flat on the floor
Arms are at the side of the body, palms forward
Define ‘supine’.
The body lying face up
Define ‘prone’.
The body lying face down
When stood in anatomical position, what is the name of the bone on the medial side of the forearm?
The ulna
When stood in anatomical position, what is the name of the bone on the lateral side of the forearm?
The radius
Define ‘medial’
Nearer to the midline
Define ‘lateral’
