Explain the word “tertiary”
study after school
What is a guarantor?
someone who provides security; promising to pay back your loan, if nececessary
Where can you apply for a bursary?
- companies
- government institutions
How does it normally work when you apply for a bursary?
+ usually have to work for the company for a few
years
+ if you leave the company, have to pay back the
money received
+ bursaries are granted to the best applicants
+ or to support students who cannot afford studying
How does LOAN work
*money borrowed from a bank
*after studying, pay back the loan + interest within a
specific number of years
*you will need a guarantor (person who promises to
pay back the bank, if you can’t)
*you must prove that you have the ability to
pass the course
How does a SCHOLARSHIP work?
= awarded to students who achieve best academic
results
= don’t have to be paid back
= must produce excellent results throughout your
studies
