What does it mean if I child’s rights are violated?
If someone does something against the law called the bill of rights
What rights do children have?
The right to:
- a name
- health
- feel safe
- an education
- shelter
- food
- a clean environment
- be listened to
- say how I feel
- be clothed
- be accepted
What is stereotyping?
When you say that all people who belong to a particular group are the same.

What is bias?
To like/dislike someone for no good reason.

What is discrimination?
Unfair treatment

- Recognize (identify what right has been violated)
- Respond (ask him/her to stop)
- Report (tell a trusted adult)

What are the different forms of child abuse? Describe each
- Physical abuse (is hurting some physically hitting, kicking, choking, punching etc)
- Emotional abuse (when a person threatens someone / makes them feel bad about themself)
- Sexual abuse (forcing someone to touch / be touched in a way that makes them uncomfortable)
- Neglect (when an adult does not take care of a child)
How does abuse affect you?
- Changed your relationships
- You feel unwell (healthwise)
- You feel bad about yourself

List some strategies to deal with abuse
- Know your whole name? phone number and address
- tell someone you trust, even though it may be a secret
- believe in yourself and your right to say no
- defend yourself if needed: yell , run and tell
