Dred Scott was a slave who was trying to sue for his freedom. The decision made was that slaves were property and should not get freedom. It is unconstitutional to prohibit slavery in any of the territories

John Brown led the raid on Harper’s Ferry, he was trying to get weapons. When he was caught and his sentence was death because he committed treason His goal was to arm Abolitionists and free slaves to start a revolt.

Abraham Lincoln was a republican who would speak against the Kansas Nebraska act and against slavery you should connect him with the southern secession.
