Temperature Flashcards
Convert celcius to kelvin
K = 0˚C + 273˚C
Convert celcius to farenheit
F = (1.8 x ˚C) + 32˚C
What is Vapour Pressure?
Pressure exerted by water vapour in the air (hPa or mb)
What is Absolute Humidity?
Mass of water vapour per unit volume (g/m3)
What is Specific Humidity?
Mass of water vapour / mass of air (g/kg)
How is Mixing Ratio different from Specific Humidity?
Mass of water vapour / mass of dry air (g/kg)
What is the Saturation Mixing Ratio?
Maximum water vapour air can hold at a given temperature
What is Dew Point Temperature?
Temperature at which clouds or dew forms (which indicates the RH)
What is Saturation or Equilibrium?
Evaporation and condensation rates are equal, the air holds the maximum possible water vapour
What is Relative Humidity?
Ratio of specific humidity to saturation humidity
