Q

How to evaluate

A
  • Tight focus on the question, do not write generally about the topic
  • Have to link knowledge to the interpretation, if there is no connection then it does not count as evaluation
  • Consider a wide range of issues discussed by the passage
  • Consider both strengths and weaknesses

Reaching a Judgement

A
  • Clear judgement as to which passage contains the view about the issue in the question that is most convincing
  • Why is it more convincing and why is the other one less convincing
  • State that both have strengths and limitations
  • Include Wider historical debate again
  • Provide some brief support for the judgement so it is not an assertion
