Q
Structure of paragraphs
A
- Use own knowledge to test the validity of the interpretation
- Does what I know support the view?
- Does the passage over or underemphasised anything?
- Does it miss out any crucial details, key to the outcome?
4
Q
How to evaluate
A
- Tight focus on the question, do not write generally about the topic
- Have to link knowledge to the interpretation, if there is no connection then it does not count as evaluation
- Consider a wide range of issues discussed by the passage
- Consider both strengths and weaknesses

Reaching a Judgement
A
- Clear judgement as to which passage contains the view about the issue in the question that is most convincing
- Why is it more convincing and why is the other one less convincing
- State that both have strengths and limitations
- Include Wider historical debate again
- Provide some brief support for the judgement so it is not an assertion
