Tech Specs Misc Flashcards
LCO 3.0.3
What conditions will put you in 3.0.3 ?
Once you are in 3.0.3 what actions must you take?
Enter 3.0.3
- LCO not met and ACTIONS not met
- ACTION not provided (condition outside T.S.)
- directed by ACTIONS (T.S. tells you enter)
Actions
- Initiate action w/in 1 hour to…..
- MODE 3 in 7 hours
- MODE 4 in 13 hours and..
- MODE 5 in 37 hours
LCO 3.0.3
What MODES is LCO 3.0.3 applicable?
If you are in 3.0.3 and then you meet the LCO or actions that put you in 3.0.3, do you still have to complete the actions of 3.0.3?
MODES - 1-4
NO, once the original T.S. is satisfied by meeting LCO or actions, you are no longer in 3.0.3
LCO 3.0.4 / ECG 0.4
LCO 3.0.4 / ECG states that you can only enter a MODE or specified condition under what conditions if LCO / ECG not met?
- Actions taken to satisfy T.S. / ECG are for an unlimited period of time
- perform a risk assesmet
- individual T.S. / ECG says its OK
LCO 3.0.6
If ASW is declared inoperable do you have to declare CCW inoperable because ASW cools CCW?
- No, as long as a SAFETY FUNCTION DETERMINATION is performed and found that you have not lost a safety function of ASW you do not have to cascade T.S. to CCW
UNLESS
- individual T.S. says to cascade
SR 3.0.2 / 0.2
If a SR action requires you to do an action (determine adequate SDM) in 1 hour and every 8 hours after……
the first action is complete w/in 1 hour at 1200 and the next time it is done at 2030….did you miss the requirement?
No, SR 3.0.2 /0.2 says for SR completed after first action is completed you are allowed 1.25 times the interval frequency as a buffer =>
8 hrs x 1.25 = 10 hrs
=>
the subsequent action could be done at 2200 and still meet the requirements
Max completion time
How is max completion time used and when is it applicable?
- a supported system (if LOSF determination is done and concluded that no safety function is lost) is detemined operable
but
- the support system actions are not completed, then the T.S. cascades and the time 0 for the supported system is when the time expired for the support system
1.3 Completion times
When do completion time “extentions” not apply?
completion time extensions do not apply to modified time Zero T.S.
- 3.6.6 Cnmt spray and cooling sys
- 3.7.5 AFW
- 3.8.1 AC sources - operating
- 3.8.9 Distribution systems - operating
LCO 3.0.1, 3.0.2/ ECG 0.1, 0.2
What does 3.0.1 / 0.1 state?
What does 3.0.2 / 0.2 state?
- 0.1 / 0.1 - LCO’s / ECG’s shall be met (with exceptions)
- 0.2 / 0.2 - if LCO’s / ECG’s not met the required actions shall be met (with exceptions)
LCO 3.0.5 / ECG 0.5
What situations may an inoperable piece of equipment be “administratively” returned to service?
- to demonstrate its own operability
- to demonstrate another piece of equipments operability
LCO 3.0.7
What T.S. / evolution does the special test exceptions permit suspension of various LCO?
What are the LCOs that are suspended?
Low power physics testing (3.1.8)
- 1.3 MTC
- 1.4 rod alignment
- 1.5 RIL SDB
- 1.6 RIL CB
- 4.2 min temp crit
LCO 3.0.8
If snubbers unable to perform support functions the affected equipment LCO not required to be enterred if risk is assessed and…….?
- only affect single train of multi train system
- affect only train but can restore function w/in 72 hrs
- affect multiple trains but can restore function w/in 12 hrs
ECG 0.3
When do you enter this ECG?
Who’s approval do you need to enter this ECG?
When do you need their approval?
- ECG not met and actions not met -> intiate notification and enter 0.3
- Station Directors approval
- should have prior to entry
- shall be w/ in 24 hrs of entry
SR 3.0.3 / 0.3
If you are transitioning to Mode 3 (from Mode 4) but a survalence that is required to be complete in Mode 3 missed its frequency by 10 hours (frequency every 8 hrs) can you still perform the mode transition?
3.0.4 is not applicable for this T.S. / ECG
YES, SR 3.0.4 / 0.4 states that a delay of 24 hrs or up to SR frequency (whichever is greater) from time of dicovery is permited to complete survalence without declaring LCO / ECG inoperable
SR 3.0.3 / 0.3
When utilizing the 24 hr / frequency time delay to perform a survalence…..what do you do if the survalence is failed?
What do you do if delay time is exceeded?
Immediately declare LCO /ECG inoperable
Immediately declare LCO /ECG inoperable
Completion times 1.3
What are the initiating conditions that would allow a “completion time extension” to occur?
How much of an extension is allowed?
What are the exceptions to “completion time extensions”?
- two components (same LCO) inop at same time
- first inop component returns to operable status first
- 24 hrs or completion time of second inop component (which ever is shorter)
- LCO that allows “separate entry”
- Modified time 0 T.S.
