3.7 plant systems Flashcards
3.7.7 CCW system
What is the basis for the volume of the CCW surge tank?
- CCW leakage
- surge tank will provide minimum 20 minutes
- non-mechanistic leak of 200 gpm
- to locate and isolate OR realign system
- Before system becomes impared due to water loss
3.7.7 CCW system
What equipment is required for one loop of CCW operable?
How many pumps can be OOS before entering LCO, “one vital loop inoperable”?
- 2 pmps, 1 hx, 1 vital hdr, srg tnk, and piping, inst, vlvs, etc to perform safety func
- 0, all 3 pumps are required for both loops to be operable.
3.7.15 SFP level
According to safety analysis in UFSAR what are the postulated levels being maintained during fuel handling accidents….
during fuel movement?
above fuel in racks?
above fuel laying on top of racks?
fuel movement - 8 ‘ (required)
fuel in racks - 24’ 6” (if 8 ‘ maintained)
fuel laying on racks - 23 ‘ (if 8’ maintained)
3.7.8 ASW system
What components are required for ONE ASW train to be operable?
- Pump, hx, associated valves piping instruments required to perf safety function
- One vacuum relief valve
- both cross tie valves open (495 and 496)
- Pump vault drain check valve
3.7.4 ADV’s (10%’s)
What function is required to make the 10%’s (ADV’s) operable?
What event are the 10%’s based to protect against?
Manual control from CR by backup air bottles
- cooldown -> RHR following SGTR
- w/ cond not available
- single failure of ADV => only two SG available
