TD-103 Flashcards
1
Q
What are the PC’s responsibilities in regard to weight and balance?
A
(AR 95-1, page 33)
- The accuracy of computations (on DD 365-4)
- That a completed 365-4 is aboard the aircraft
- Weight and balance are within limits for the duration of the flight
2
Q
What are the procedure for performing the hover power check?
A
(FTG p.23)
- Perform the check near the takeoff point in the direction of takeoff
- Maintain 3 foot hover, and determine sufficient power is available to complete the mission.
3
Q
When should a hover OGE check be verified?
A
(FTG p.24)
- OGE hover power check should be verified any time aircraft controllability or PWR is in doubt.
4
Q
What maneuvers that we conduct require OGE power?
A
(FTG p.23)
- Hover Out-of Ground Effect Check
- Terrain Flight Takeoff
- Terrain Flight
- Terrain Flight Approach
- Terrain Flight Deceleration
- Maximum Performance Takeoff
- Masking and Unmasking
- Low Reconnaissance
5
Q
While flying in a formation, you start to receive varying degrees of feedback, binding, resistance, or sloppiness. There is no indication that there is a hydraulic malfunction. What are your immidiate action steps?
A
Flight Control Malfunction:
- LAND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
- EMER SHUTDOWN AFTER LANDING
6
Q
What are the airspeed limits for the OH-58A/C?
A
(OP SUP p.5-4)
- 0-120 Knots Normal Operation
- 120 Knots Maximum
- 100 knots Reccomended Maximum for Autorotation
(OP SUP p.5-8)
- Refer to speed operating limits chart (figure 5-3) for forward air-speed limits.
- Sideward flight limits are 35 knots.
- Rearward flight limits are 30 knots.
- Recommended maximum indicated airspeed for autorotation is 100 knots.
- Maximum indicated airspeed with any door removed is 100 knots.

Q
What are the rotor limits for the OH-58A/C?
A
(OP SUP p.5-4)
- 93% to 110% Normal Operation
- 49% to 58% Continuous Operation Prohibited
- 93% Minimum
- 110% Maximum
