colors for preparing navigational aids for example on maps or on kneeboard notes
Describe the three types of light-adaption
Photopic
Mesopic
Scotopic
Photopic
During daylight/high levels of artificial illumination. Rods are bleached out, cones are primarily used. Color vision, high acuity and central vision
Mesopic
In twilight or full moonlight. Rods and cones are used, but acuity and colors are degraded. The scanning/viewing technique depends on the level of illumination.
Scotopic
In starlight and partial moonlight. Only rods are used, the night blind spot appears and colors are lost. Use of peripheral vision.
What type of vision is the most dangerous for crewmembers and why?
Mesopic
With changing illumination the required scanning method can change without the aircrew noticing.
ANVIS BEFORE OPERATION CHECKS - Open carrying case, serial number, inventory items and check the DA Form 2408-30 to see if the following are current or present
- 6 month service
- grounding (red X) on DA Form 2408-30
What are the standards associated with perform tactical flight mission planning?
- Analyze the mission using METT-TC
- Perform map/photo reconnaissance. Ensure all known hazards are plotted
- Select appropriate terrain flight mode and technique of movement
- Select appropriate primary and alternative routes and enter them on the map
- Determine distance +- 1km, GS +- 5kts, and ETE +- 1min for each leg
- Determine fuel +- 100 lbs
- Obtain and analyse weather brief to determine the conditions are adequate to complete the mission
- Conduct a thorough crew brief
