What do you do if a broken neck or back is suspected?
Do not move casualty unless need to save their life
First step to care under fire?
Return fire as directed or required/ determine if casualty is alive or dead.
AVPU?
Alert, Responsive to Voice, Responsive to Pain, and Unresponsive.
How do you check for Pain?
Rub breastbone with a knuckle, squeeze first/second toe nail, pinch nose or earlobe.
Blood Sweep?
Place hands behind the casualty’s neck and pass upwards toward top of head (note of any blood
or brain tissue on hands), then behind casualty shoulders and pass them downward behind
back, thighs, and legs.
To stop hemorrhaging what tool do you use?
Tourniquet from the casualty’s Individuals First Aid Kit (IFAK)
Assess for breathing?
Equal Rise and fall of chest for any wounds. Look, listen, and fell for respiration.
