how is TBI classsified?
mild, moderate, severe
what is a mild TBI?
any trauma inducded disruption of brain fucntion with loss of consciousmess, memory and alteratom in mental state or focal deficit
what is a moderate TBI?
A GVS of 9-12, traumatic amnesia of 1 to 24 hours
what is a severe TBI
loss of consiousness more than sicx hours. GCS score of 8 or less
what impacts recovery and prognosis?
motivation and meotioanl regulation, severity of injury, wuality of intervetniona nd follow up, Age, pre injury capabilities, reoccurnces, prevention of secondary copmlications, social support
