We use a clove hitch and binder knot to hoist many of our tools, with a half hitch at the opposite end. The half hitch is _” below the handle of the axe, when hoisting an axe. They are all 1 1/2 arms lengths. And the knot to hoist ladders has a 1 ft. end (bowline knot). It also states later on that the bowline knot is used for ladders 20’ and over.
