Task 3 survey CALC. & Report Flashcards
What is digital levelling?
Digital levelling refers to the process of using electronic instruments to measure and adjust the elevation or level of surfaces with high precision in various applications.
Why is leveling done in construction?
ensure all the levels on site refer to a datum, including floor levels and drains.
what are the two types of levelling?
1) differential / spirit levelling
2) indirect - trigonometric or barometric.
what is backsight?
the first reading of any set up and would be booked in the column labeled backsight.
How do you calculate starting reduced level?
height of collimation - intermediate sight
How do you calculate the reduced level (excluding the starting level) ?
height of collimation - backsight
how do you calculate the first rise?
backsight - intersight
how do you check your answer is correct after finishing the table?
1) calculate sum of backsight
2) calculate sum of foresight
3) do the calculation sum of BS - sum of FS
4) first RL - Last RL
5) check the answer to step 4 and 3 are the same.
6) if they are the same the answer is correct.
