Why is Demographic segmentation important and what does it segment people based on
Age, gender income, ethnicity, religion, education etc.
Important because it allows the business to create personalised marketing campaigns.
What is target market
A group of actual and potential customers whose needs and wants a business wishes to satisfy
What does Geographic segmentation distinguish people based on and why is it important
Where they live, climate, city, country, state etc.
Important because businesses can target advertising to certain areas.
What is psychographic segmentation based on
lifestyle, socio-economic group, personality, motives, values
What is behavioural segmentation based on and why is it important
Based on user status, loyalty status, purchase occasion, user tendancy, knowledge of the brand, etc.
important because it identifies the most engaged users and can filter potential prospects that display the highest levels of engagement.
