Q

T - Results

A

Heavy Facebook users showed stronger feelings of envy. The size of the network of Facebook friends was not related to envy. Facebook was a significant predictor of depression among college students. If Facebook is used positively, it can lessen depression.

Q

T - Criticisms

A

Culturally biased sample, may have been influenced by social desirability, the study took place online so the sample is likely to reflect those who are regularly online, lacks construct validity, hard to establish cause and effect - does Facebook cause envy or are those with envy drawn to Facebook?
