A

twice as common in M than F
incidence of 1 per 1000 births
50% cases are bilateral

A

mostly idiopatahic
spina bifida
cerbral palsy
edward’s syndrome- trisomy 18
oligohydramnios
arthrogryposis

what is the management of talipes equinovarus?

A

ponseti method- manipuation + progressive casting starting soon after birth
deformity corrected after 6-10 weeks

85% require achilles tenotomy under LA

night time braces until 4yo
relapse rate 15%
