Tachycardia Flashcards
What are the possible types of tachycardia?
Sinus tachycardia, Supraventricular Tachycardia
AFib, Aflutter, Ventricular tachycardia
What is Sinus tachycardia? and causes
Fast rhythm but normal (p:QRS normal, etc)
prolonged: causes: urgent: Sepsis, Hypovalemia (GI Bleed?)
endocrine (thyrotoxicosis, pheatochromocytoma)
anxiety, caffeine, etc
What is Supraventricular tachycardia? common causes?
tachycardia but cannot see the p waves. still regular.
AVRT-delta waves-small PR interval and slurred upstroke of QRS (like instead of sharp up, slow long up)
AVNRT-re entry in the AV node-no delta wave
caused by re-entry circuits-AVRT or AVNRT
what is Afib/flut?
do it
What is Ventricular tachycardia?
Broad complex tachycardia
treat with IV amiodarone
pacemaker
defibrillation
