Tachycardia Flashcards
Causes of regular, narrow QRS tachycardia
Sinus tachycardia Atrial flutter with 2:1 block AV nodal re-entrant tachycardia Atrioventricular re-entrant tachycardia Atrial tachycardia
Causes or irregualr narrow QRS tachycardia
A fib
A flutter
Multifocal atrial tachycardia
Causes of regular, broad QRS tachycardia
VT
SVT with aberrant conduction
Antidromic AV re-entrant tachycardias
Causes of irregular broad QRS tachycardia
Torsades
Pre-excited AF
Sinus Tachycardia
From SAN
P wave before QRS, + in II and - in aVR
Consistent PR
Atrial tachycardia
abnormal P wave shape
isoelectric baseline between P waves
Multifocal atrial tachycardia
at least 3 different P waves
irregular
Atrioventricular re-entrant tacycardia
Accessory pathway outside the AVN e.g. WPW
orthodromic and antidromic
orthodromic- P waves after QRS
antidromic- broad QRS
subtle P waves- seen as a distortion of ST or T
Atrioventricular nodal re-entrant tachycardia
Re-entry confined to tissue proximal to AVN
P waves may not be visible or occur shortly after QRS
VT
AV dissociation no P waves capture beats- independant narrow QRS Precordial concordance in V1-V6 (all directed in same direction) LAD Usually underlying heart disease > 30s is sustained
SVT with aberrant conduction
No P waves
Broad QRS + LBBB or RBBB
