Ways to make make an improvised tourniquet
-Triangular Bandage
-Ace bandage w a flashlight or baton for the windlass rod and a watch for the locking mechanism
Sucking chest wound
A hole in chest wall that may let air into the chest cavity rather than into the lungs, causing the affected lung to collapse
Treatment for a sucking chest wound
-Seal the hole with an occlusive (airtight) dressing as the casualty exhales
-Vent (“Burp”) improvised dressing if increased labored breathing to relieve pressure inside the chest cavity
Respiratory assessment
difficulty breathing, Crushing pain in the chest, unequal rise and fall of the chest
Utilizing hot packs to help prevent further hypothermia
Place on neck, groin, armpits, knees (try not to place on bare skin)

Hypothermia
Condition in which the core body temp is below 95 F
-Core temp is found in the part of the body containing the vital organs (brain, heart, liver, lungs, and kidneys.)
