SYSTEMS -

What provides Predictive and Reactive Windshear Warnings? When are those systems active?

A
  • Predictive is a function of the weather radar and looks 5nm ahead of the aircraft.
    • Active on the ground up to 100kts.
    • Active again from 50ft until 1800
    • Active on landing from 1800 until 50ft.
  • Reactive is a function of the FACs and alerts the crew when windshear conditions have been entered. The FAC measures the difference between the current energy state and the minimum energy state for safe flight.
    • On takeoff: Active from 3 seconds after liftoff until 1300ft.
    • On landing: Active from 1300ft to 50ft.

Q

SYSTEMS -

Which displays does each DMC run?

A
  • DMC1 - PFD1, ND1, EWD and SD

A

1 per gear.

The two triangles represent a signal from LGCIU 1 and LGCIU 2. If either is green the gear is locked in the down position.
