Systems - Hydraulics Flashcards
What type of hydraulic pumps are in system 2?
EDP 2 (Engine Driven Pump 2)
ACMP 2 (AC Motor Pump 2)
PTU (from System 1)
When will EDP 2 begin pumping hydraulic fluid? Is this automatic?
When the engine is running. Yes.
When will ACMP 2 turn on automatically?
Engine 1 running and parking brake released
During Engine 1 start (once N2 reaches 40%) if parking brake has been applied within last 6 minutes.
When will ACMP 2 turn off automatically?
After parking brake has been set for 6 minutes.
Which hydraulic system controls nosewheel steering? Landing gear?
Number 2 (both systems)
What type of hydraulic pumps are in system 3?
ACMP (AC Motor Pumps)
When will ACMP 3A begin pumping hydraulic fluid? Is this automatic?
When turned on. Activated prior to engine start (deactivated after shutdown)
When will ACMP 3B turn on automatically?
Upon ACMP 3A failure.
What is the primary purpose of the PTU?
Provide hydraulic pump power to System 2 from System 1, to assist in gear retraction should loss of Number 2 engine or EDP 2 occur.
Will the PTU run on the ground in AUTO?
No
When will the PTU run in flight (knob in AUTO)?
Flaps Not Zero or Landing Gear not up and locked. AND
EDP 1 not fail. AND
Hydraulic reservoir 2 quantity above 12%.
