Memory Procedure - Engine Abnormal Start
AFFECTED ENGINE:
START / STOP SELECTOR…………….STOP
Engine Start Abort Criteria
- No positive oil pressure indication within 10 seconds after N2 speed starts to increase.
- During engine start with a tailwind, when a positive increase of N1 is not indicated before starter cutout (50%N2). In this case, the airplane is repositioned prior to engine start to minimize tailwind effects.
- No ITT indication within 30 seconds after initiation of fuel flow (no lightoff).
- ITT exceeds start limit (815°C-Hot).
- Oil pressure stabilizes below the engine limits.
- N1 and/or N2 failing to accelerate to stable idle speed (hungstart).
- An intermittent electrical pneumatic or starter malfunction occurs before the starter disengagement.
Engine Start Parameters
- Times Start: at initial N2 rotation
- 10 seconds: Positive Oil Pressure
- 7% N2: Monitor ignition
- 20% N2: Verify Fuel Flow
- Light-off: Within 30 seconds after fuel flow
- N1 Rotation: Prior to Start Cutout (approximately 50%)
- 50% N2: Verify IGN A (B) goes out
- Engine Stabilization: ITT tick mark moves.
