Systems - Engines Flashcards
Engine Start Abort Criteria
- No positive oilpressure indication within 10 seconds after N2 speed starts to increase.
- During engine start with a tailwind, when a positive increase of N1 is not indicated before starter cutout (50%N2). In this case, the airplane is repositioned prior to engine start to minimize tailwind effects.
- No ITT indication within 30 seconds after initiation of fuelflow (no lightoff).
- ITT exceeds start limit (815°C-Hot).
- Oil pressure stabilizes below the engine limits.
- N1 and/orN2 failing to accelerate to stable idle speed (hungstart).
- An intermittent electrical pneumatic or starter malfunction occurs before the starter disengagement.
Engine Start Parameters
- Times Start: at initial N2 rotation
- 10 seconds: Positive Oil Pressure
- 7% N2: Monitor ignition
- 20% N2: Verify Fuel Flow
- Light-off: Within 30 seconds after fuel flow
- N1 Rotation: Prior to Start Cutout (approximately 50%)
- 50% N2: Verify IGN A (B) goes out
- Engine Stabilization: ITT tick mark moves.
When will ATTCS provide reserve thurst automatically?
- Difference between both engine N1 values is greater than 15%
- One engine failure during takeoff.
- One engine failure during go-around.
- Windshear warning.
What type of engines does the E175 have?
CF34-8E5
Can you change the thrust mode manually?
Yes, via the TRS page on the MCDU.
What’s the difference between MAX and TOGA?
About 1,200 lbs of thrust.
When will thrust change from TO to CLB.
- Landing gear retracted
- Airplane is above 400 AGL
- Any Change in vertical mode
When will thrust change from CLB to CRZ?
Airplane is level at the preselected altitude for 90 seconds and,
The airspeed is within 5 kts (or .01 M) from preselected airspeed.
When will thrust change to CON?
Automatically if engine fails at or above 3,000 AGL
Manually if selected in the MCDU (TRS page)
When will thrust change from CRZ to GA?
