Q

What are the steps for a reflex reaction?

A

1) The neurones in reflex arcs go through the unconscious parts of the brain or the spinal cord
2) When a stimulus is detected it is sent along the sensory neurone to a relay neurone
When this is done, as it reaches the synapse, a chemical is released
3) The chemicals cause the impulses to be sent along the relay neurone to the motor neurone.
4) When it reaches the synapse a chemical is released again.
5) The impulse is sent to the effector and the effector responds.
