What is the HR that determines bradycardia from a sinus rhythm?
60 bpm
What 4 signs/symptoms are needed to treat a pt with symptomatic bradycardia?
Altered mental status
Hypotension
Chest pain
Shortness of breath
If a patient has a bradycardic rhythm and is not symptomatic what should be done?
If the patient is greater than 40 years of age Call medical control, If less than 40 years of age monitor and transport
If a patient is experiencing symptomatic bradycardia with a 1st° heart block, what drug and treatment plan should they receive?
Atropine- 1mg every 3-5 min
If atropine doesn’t work proceed to sedation and pacing
If a patient is experiencing symptomatic bradycardia And has a possible 2nd or 3rd degree heart block how should they be treated?
Versed- 2 mg IV/MAD up to 10
Morphine- 5mg
Pacing- 80 Bpm
