Describe the 1st step of the swords
Addressing the swords
B1: PDB with RF to 1a (1& 2); PDB with LF to 1d (3& 4)
B2: Make 3/4 of a turn to the right with two PDBs, the first with RF to corner A, the second with LF at corner A without travel (5& 6, 7& 8)
B3: PDB with RF to slightly beyond 2 (1& 2); travelling slightly to the left, assemble at 2 with RF in 5th position (3); disassemble on to LF exeucuting a high cut with RF (count 4&)
B4: Execute 4 high cuts at 2, springing RF, LF, RF, LF (5& 6& 7& 8&)
Arms: First position in B1-3, changing to 3rd position on the fourth count of B3; 3rd position in B4
B5-8: As for bars 1 -4, starting at 2 and finishing at 3
B9-12: As above, starting at 3 and finishing at 4
B13-16: As above, starting at 4 and finishing at 1
Note: Where, primary, beginner sections are concerned, the dancer may omit the assemble and disassemble with high cut describe in B3 above and substitute a PDB with LF to 2 (3& 4) in which case the arms are retained in 1st position for that PDB then raised to 3rd for B4.
Describe the 2nd step of the swords
Open PDB
B1: PDB into A with RF (1& 2); PDB into D with LF (3& 4)
B2: Open PDB into A with RF, LF 4th-op-5th in B (5& 6); open PDB into D with LF, RF 4th-op-5th in C (7& 8)
B3: Repeat B2 (1& 2, 3& 4)
B4: Execute 4 spring points turning over the 2nd sword, RF in A, LF 4th in B (5); with 1/2 turn to the right, LF in B, RF 2th in A (6); with 1/8th turn to the right RF in B, LF 4th in A (7); with 1/8 turn to right, LF in A, RF 2nd in B (8).

Note: If the 3rd (toe-and-heel) step or 7th (quick) or 8th (quick) step with the alternative method for the first bar is to follow, then, on the last spring point in B16 make 3/8 turn to the right finishing LF in D, RF 4th in A.
Describe the 3rd step of the swords
Toe-and-heel
Begun with the dancer facing A with LF (supporting foot) in D, RF pointed in 5th or pointed in 4th in A.
B1: Spring, then 3 hops RF in D, while executing the toe-and-heel movement twice with the working foot (LF) 4th-op-5th in A (1, 2, 3, 4).
B2: Repeat B1 reversing the positions of the feet (5, 6, 7, 8)
B3: With 1/4 turn to left on the 1st count, spring into A with RF, then hop RF in A, executing 1 toe-and-heel movement with LF in 5th (1, 2); spring, then hop LF in A, executing 1 toe-and-heel movement with RF in 5th (3, 4)
B4: Execute 4 spring points over the 2nd sword, each with the supporting foot in A and the working foot 4th in B (5, 6, 7, 8)
Arms: 2nd in B1; 2nd in B2, 1st in B3, 3rd in B4.
B5-8: As for B1-4, finishing over the 3rd sword.
B9-12: As for B1-4, finishing over the 4th sword
B13 & 14: As for B1-2 (over the 4th sword)
B15: Travelling straight forward in a line parallel to the first sword and commencing to turn to the right, PDB with RF to 1d (1& 2); assemble at 1d completing 1/2 turn to finich facing the 4th sword with RF in 5th (3); disassemble on to LF with high cut RF (4&)
B16: Travelling to the right on the first spring, execute 4 high cuts at 1, springing RF, LF, RF, LF (5& 6& 7& 8&)
1st Alt (B15 & 16)
B15: As for B3, but in D
B16: Execute 4 spring points over the 1st sword, turning as described for B16 of the 2nd step
The notes to the second step applies with reference to the 7th & 8th (quick) steps…
Note: If the 3rd (toe-and-heel) step or 7th (quick) or 8th (quick) step with the alternative method for the first bar is to follow, then, on the last spring point in B16 make 3/8 turn to he right finishing LF in D, RF 4th in A.
2nd Alt (B15&16) B15: To be used only as a lead into the 7th or 8th (quick) step started by using the alternative method of executing B1. B15-16: As for B3-4, finishing over the 1st sword.
Describe the 4th step of the swords
Pointing
B1: PDB into A with RF (1& 2); PDB into D with LF (3& 4)
B2: Spring point with RF in A, LF 2nd in D (5); hop RF, pointing LF in 5th (6); hop RF, pointing LF 4th in B (7); hop RF bringing LF back to point it in 5th (8).
B3: Spring point with LF in D, RF in 2nd in A (1); hop LF pointing RF 5th (2); hop LF, pointing RF 4th in C (3); hop LF bringin RF back to point it in 5th (8).
B4: Spring point with RF in A, LF 2nd in D (5); with 1/4 turn to left, hop RF pointing LF in 5th (6); spring point with LF in A, RF 2nd in B (7); hop LF bringing RF back to point in 5th (8).

B5-8: As for B1-4, finishing in B.
B9-12: As for B1-4, finishing in C.
B13-16: As for B1-4, finishing in D.
Note: If this step is to be followed by the 3rd step or by the 7th or 8th (quick) steps with the alternative method for the 1st bar; then B16 should be executed as follows:
Spring point into D with RF, LF 2nd in C (5); hop RF, pointing LF in 5th (6); spring point with LF in D, RF 4th in A (7); hop LF, bringing RF back to point it in 5th (8).
