A

A

The working foot is release to 2nd A and then do a small shake action on the hop. Note there are counting for the shake - 4 or &4

A

Bourees may start and/or finish with an extension to 2nd aerial low unless otherwise stated. They should be consistently used throughout the step.

A

Two methods
B1-2 stand in 1st (1 2 3, 2 2 3)

B3-4 STDA step and bow/curtsey (3 2 3) Pivot 1/8th turn (4 2) Point 4th position (3)
Arms 1st for girls. Boys may use 1st or 2nd on count 3

B3-4 UKA: step and bow/curtsey (3 2 3) step back making 1/8th turn R (4) point (2) pause (3)
Arms 1st for males and females. (Males can’t use 2nd in this method)

Describe step 1 of Lilt

A

Circle
(Working foot contacts the leg in 3rd A - the extension/re-extension is to 4th Aer pos. note head turns over right shoulder to face front during B4 when executing 3 spring points. No travel on hop.)

B1 - step RF to 4th pos extending LF to 4th A. Hop RF bringing LF inwards to 3rd A. Hop re-extending LF towards 4th during the elevation and simultaneously on landing bringing LF inwards to 3rd A position.
B2 - repeat B1 with opposite foot
B3 - repeat bar 1 to complete half of the circle and finish centre front facing the left side
B4 - three spring points in 4th pos springing LF, RF, LF - head directed over shoulder
Arms - girls hold skirt. Boys use 2nd B1-3, 3rd pos in B4
B5-7 repeat B1-3 to complete the circle and finish facing front
B8 repeat B4 with head in 1st

Describe step 2 of Lilt

A

Step balance

B1 prepare by extending RF to 4th int A pos. spring RF to displace LF which is taken as in a balance movement to 4th int RA. Bouree Derriere LF finishing with an extension to 4th int A (2 & 3)
B2-3 repeat twice more. Last count of 3 to finish 4th int A pos or may finish with an extension to 2nd Aer pos.
Arms 2nd pos, LH raised
B4- execute a shake action RF to 2nd A (4)- Bourree Derriere finished with an extension of the LF to 4th int A pos
Arms in B4 either change 2nd to 2nd or lower at side on 1st count 2 & 3

Shake count is either 4 or 4 & or 8 or 8 &
B5-8 repeat B1-4 with opposite foot

STDA and UKA extend to prepare for this step. This is a quick extension to begin the step. BATD reads “spring to displace” so an extension is not required to begin this version.

B1 Assemble RF in 5th. Execute two changes. Arms in 1st
B2 Softly release RF to 2nd A. Hop executing a shake to 2nd A pos (&2 or 2). Bouree Derriere in all versions finishes with an extension to 2nd A (2 & 3)
Arms 2nd LH raised on count & 2 (2). Circle arms outwards and downwards to 1st pos during counts 2 & 3 of bars 2, 4, 6 and 8

Describe step 4 of Lilt

A

PDB
(Danced facing front. 3 versions: re-extend to 4th A, re-extend to 4th int A or syncopated hop then re-extend to 4th A.)
(Don’t touch leg on first inward movement and do touch the leg on the next two movements)

B1-2 PDB RF. Hop RF extending LC through 4th int A towards 3rd A. Place RF on 1/2 point in 5th, then lightly beat ball of RF in 5th rear.
Hop extending LF to 4th int A or 4th A during the elevation then take LF inwards to 3rd pos (2) repeat count 2 (2). (Note:working foot finishes in 3rd A when landing on each hop.
B3-4 Repeat bar 1-2 with opposite foot
B5-8 repeat b1-4
Arms 1st pos counts 1 & 2, 2nd pos for 3 & 2 2 3

A

Forward travel
(B1-4 may be danced with a slight shoulder lead. Danced in perfect 1/2 beat rhythm - all texts. All Bourees may start or finish in 2nd A low (note where stated differently). A bouree can be danced without an extension to commence or finish.)

B1 - PDB RF. Short step forward to 4th position on1/2 point, close RF to 3rd rear pos. (The shoulder lead is on counts & 2 & 3, count 1 is still facing front.)
B2 - repeat b1 on opposite side (2 & 2 & 3)
B3-4 repeat B1-2 (3 & 2 & 3, 4 & 2 & 3)
B5-6 facing front and traveling slightly backwards, execute 2 Bourree Derriere finishing both with extension to 2nd aerial low position.
Execute 2 Lateral Coupes through 3rd rear springing RF, LF with both finishing in 2nd low aerial.
B7-8 repeat B5-6 to regain line

Arms - Men in 1st. Girls may hold skirt.

A

Rocking

(UKA version states this may be preceded with an extension to 2nd A low)

B1-2Commence spring RF and gradually traveling to the right side, execute 6 rocks.
B3 Execute 3 more rocks springing RF, LF, RF making a complete turn on the spot to the right
B4 Execute 1 rock springing LF onto RF raising LF to 3rd RA pos. Execute a rond-the-leg movement LF to 3rd A pos, then hop RF extend LF to 2nd A pos
OR
B4 Execute 2 rocks springing LF, RF. Hop RF extending LF with Shake to 2nd pos (& 3, or 3)
B5-8 repeat B1-4 with opp foot

A

Round the leg
B1 Commence hop or disassemble pointing RF in 2nd. Hop taking RF to 3rd RA. Execute a round-the-leg to 3rd A. Hop extending RF to 4th int Aer pos.
Arms - 2nd L arm raised
B2 repeat B1 on opposite side with spring onto RF
B3 repeat B1commencing with Spring LF making a complete turn to left on the spot
Arms 1st or 2nd
B4 has options
Either 3 spring points (4 2 3) or
2 spring shuffle (4 2 3) or
2 shuffles and assemble (4 & 2 & 3)
