16
Q

(Flight Instruments and Displays) What is the main difference between a CDS FAULT and a CDS MAINT message.

A
  • CDS FAULT (Amber) - indicates there is a non-dispatchable fault in the CDS system.
  • CDS MAINT (White) - indicates there is a dispatchable fault in the CDS system.
17
Q

(Flight Instruments and Displays) What does the top of the Minimum Speed Bar indicate?

A

Speed at which the Stick Shaker activates.

18
Q

(Flight Instruments and Displays) What does pressing the CTR button on the EFIS Control Panel do?

A

Display the full Compass Rose, also the route, waypoints, and TCAS traffic BEHIND the aircraft are in view (however WX Radar and Terrain only display in front of the aircraft)

19
Q

(Flight Instruments and Displays) What does the STA button on the EFIS Control Panel display?

A

VOR Stations (if the MAP scale is set to 40nm or lower all VOR’s are displayed; however if the MAP scale is set to 80nm or greater only High Altitude VOR’s are displayed)

20
Q

(Flight Instruments and Displays) What does the WPT switch on the EFIS Control Panel display?

A

• 40nm or less - All waypoints in the FMC database, which are not in the flight plan route are displayed.

21
Q

(Flight Instruments and Displays) What does the ARPT switch on the EFIS Control Panel display?

A

All airports in the FMC database which are within the viewable map area are displayed.

22
Q

(Flight Instruments and Displays) What does the DATA switch on the EFIS Control Panel display?

A
  • Displays each altitude constraint next to the associated waypoint.
  • The ETA for each waypoint is also displayed.
23
Q

(Flight Instruments and Displays) What does the POS switch on the EFIS Control Panel display?

A

IRS and GPS positions.

24
Q

(Flight Instruments and Displays) You see an EFIS MODE/NAV FREQ DISAGREE on your MD and a RW/APP TUNE DISAGREE on your MCDU, what does this mean?

A
  • That you have a VOR frequency, tuned with the EFIS Control Panel set to APP mode. or
  • That you have an ILS frequency tuned with the EFIS Control Panel set to VOR Mode.
25
Q

(Flight Instruments and Displays) When does the Flight Recorder start recording?

A

When one of the two engines is operating (in the air, even if both engines shutdown, as long as there is electrical power it will keep recording).

26
Q

(Flight Instruments and Displays) What does it mean when the OFF light on the Flight Recorder Panel on the Overhead Panel is illuminated?

A
  • Both Engines are OFF or

* There is a malfunction in the Flight Recorder

27
Q

(Flight Instruments and Displays) When does the Pitch Limit Indicator (PLI) display on the PFD?

A
  • Flaps extended

* At slow speeds with the Flaps up
