What is the history of svp?

SVP was founded in Paris , France 1833 by Frederick Ozanam. He was a Roman Catholic and was inspired by life and teaching of Jesus. Fredrick ozanam wanted to make a positive difference in the lives of people in poverty. So he set up an organisation to help the poor called St.Vincent de Paul.

Why do people support SVP?

People support SVP for many reasons , some want to make a positive difference in the lives of others , follow the example of Jesus and others want to put Christian values of love , justice and respect into action

What work dose SVP provide ?

They provide meals on wheels , visiting people alone or in prisons , SVP charity shops , Christmas food hampers , setting up breakfast and homework clubs in schools and giving people money to help pay their bills
