- Monks angry with Larbi at the end; older Monk pushing Larbi’s small boxes and taking away metal box

- The snare drum opens the section
- The cello follows with the bass line

How was the Snare Drum used to create the beats in the aural setting?
Instead of pressing the pedal, they would use a brush to have a lighter sound quality
How is lighting used in this section?
Lighting starts low, before the lights are brought up to focus on the line of boxes in the middle of the stage
- Bright white lights
What choreographic devises are used?
Section opens with cumulative cannon line at the start
How are the dancers’ space used in this section?
- Direct pathways to show discipline and organisation
- Sideways pathways off the boxes
- Lots of symmetry (typical of Larbi)
- Straight lines
- Half circle shapes

- High level to mid level pathways - on and off box
- Dancers end stood on the boxes
- The Monks stay in their own spaces (isolation, link to s1)
What is the box design like?
- Transition to war of boxes moving into a line
- Boxes get stood up into 2 separate lines
- Boxes move again into a single line
- First time the metal box is used (shows East vs. West)
- Boxes are used to create two walls opposite each other
